About Me

Hey, my name is Sam Danes. I'm a senior at Austin Peay State University. I'm a sports broadcasting major. I was originally a sports management major as a freshmen, but I changed schools and switched to sports broadcasting. I have really enjoyed all of my broadcasting experiences so far. I would be ok with working any aspect of a broadcasting job. I'm comfortable in just about every spot and always continuing to learn.

I was born in Overland Park, KS. I currently live in Nashville, TN. I have always loved sports. I played baseball, basketball, and football in high school. I had always wanted to play professional baseball. I had been scouted by the Reds in high school until I tore my labrum. I attended Asbury Univeristy in Wilmore, KY, my freshmen year. I played baseball there until I tore my rotator cuff. I had surgery shortly after but I decided to stop playing baseball. After Asbury, I went to Volunteer State Community College for a year before attending Austin Peay. I have had my own lawn mowing company since high school. I have also worked at the Reese Group Inc. for the last 2 summers. I am currently a member of the APSU broadcasting team working basketball and football games. I am also getting experience doing play by play and color analysis. I have a real passion for sports. I've played baseball, basketball, and football just about my entire life. I would love have a career that lets me be around and involved in sports.
