- Potential for career success.
Our
students are prepared to find fulfilling and financially rewarding
communication industry careers.
- Students come first. We think helping students
to achieve their goals should be our first priority, and it is.
- Classes are small. In our deparment, as
in almost all Austin Peay classrooms, class size is capped at
25 students. You get personal attention from your instructor.
- Learn by doing. Through internships,
practicums, and independent studies, students have the opportunity
to work in the communication industry with professionals. This
often translates into jobs.
- Work with excellent faculty.
You're
taught by caring professors with excellent academic credentials
and real-world experience; and, not by graduate students.
- Learn the newest technology.
Our
department is wired with fibre optic and ethernet cable and has
microwave dishes for the latest satellite connectivity. We even
have a mobile broadcast van. We've got the latest hardware and
software technology so you can learn digital audio and video
production, desktop publishing and Web design.

communication research. In our Communication Research Center, you'll
learn to conduct computer-aided telephone surveys, political
polls, marketing and marketing communication research, and develop
your investigative skills.
- Produce real audio and
video programs and design Web sites. With our Cable Channel 99, television
studio, digital editing bay, Web design computer laboratory,
and WAPX - FM radio, you'll gain the hands-on experience so important
in all of the communication industry careers.
- Have fun while learning.
Our
program is challenging, yet fun and user-friendly. We offer you
the opportunities to grow both in the classroom and with practics
from your Freshmen year onward. You'll enjoy getting to know
